Восемьсот десять лет назад, в городе Балхе (Северный Афганистан) родился Мевлана Джалал ад-дин Мухаммад Руми – знаменитый мистик и великий персидский поэт, основатель и руководитель суфийского братства Маулавийа. Написанная им поэма “Маснави-ий Ма,нави” заслужено стала шедевром мировой литературы и даже именовалась “Коран на персидском языке”.
С 29 сентября по 1 октября 2017года, приуроченный ко дню рождения шейха Мухаммада Руми (30 сентября), в Риге состоялся 4-й Международный фестиваль Восточной музыки и искусства “RUMI FEST”. Концерты прошли в Доме Рижского Латышского общества (29 и 30 сентября) и во Дворце культуры “Зиемельблазма” (1 октября). Для знатоков Персидской цивилизации и поклонников великого искусства Ирана эти дни стали настоящим праздником.
Ансамбль “TANEEN-O-TAN” приехал к нам из Франции. Он объединяет артистов персидского и армянского происхождения. Синтез музыкальных инструментов (сетар, томбак, дудук) и мелодий этих народов наполнил композиции ансамбля неповторимым очарование.
Группа “AHOORA BAND” прилетела в Ригу прямо из Ирана, из города Керманшах, административного центра одноимённой провинции. Здесь, на западе Ирана, в регионе с горным рельефом, благодатным климатом и великим множеством исторических памятников, проживают курды – красивые, талантливые и гостепреимные люди, в национальных костюмах которых выступали наши гости.
Фестиваль “RUMI FEST” в столице Латвийской Республики организовало и замечательно провело общество “AUSTRUMU KULTŪRAS CENTRS”. Основная цель его деятельности – популяризация в Европе Восточной культуры, традиций и музыки. Общество регулярно проводит различные мероприятия – развивающие семинары, благотворительные концерты, вечера поэзии и музыки, в которых участвуют выдающиеся музыканты из Латвии и гости из Литвы, Эстонии, Ирана, Турции и других стран. Эти мероприятия для тех, кто интересуется музыкой, поэзией и культурой Востока. Общество также занимается благотворительностью, помогая детям-сиротам, инвалидам и престарелым.
А воспитанники Рижской Школы дервишей Мевлана познакомили рижан с церемонией Семы – современным ритуалом кружащихся дервишей. Shkola Dervishei Mevlana
Ритуалу общения со Всевышним путём вращения – много веков. Его истоки уходят в глубокую древность, в юность человечества. Не обошла его вниманием и наша литература. Вот как впечатляюще описано еженедельное радение дервишей во времена Тамерлана (14-й век) замечательным русским писателем и историком С.П.Бородиным в романе “Звёзды над Самаркандом”:
“Дервиши в своих узорных тканях, тёмно-бурых халатах, в островерхих шапках, обрамлённых бурой бахромой с остроконечными посохами в руках, выстроились со всех сторон двора…
По одежде ничем не отличаемый от своей паствы, вышел вперёд духовный наставник сил воинствующих слуг веры, выкрикивая благодарения Богу…
И сотня могучих глоток, исторгнув вопль славословия, подтвердила слова наставника.
И ещё, и ещё, и снова, и снова, исторгая вопль за воплем, дервиши подтверждали свои слова взмахами каменных чёток, коих резкий стук усиливал силу слов.
Их волнение нарастало.
Они двинулись кругом по краю двора, выкрикивая за словом слово, мерно следуя с поклонами друг за другом.
За каждым словом – один шаг вперёд, вслед за шагом – один поклон.
Всё громче и протяжнее звучали слова, всё порывистее становились шаги, всё глубже дыхание, всё горячее глаза.
Наставник повернулся навстречу шествующим дервишам.
Чем быстрее двигались и кланялись дервиши, вскидывая постукивающие чётки, восклицая, как клятвы или как заклинанья, слова молитв, тем быстрее кружился внутри дервишеского круга их наставник.
Два встречных движения, два встречных круга; устремлённое направо шествие паствы, устремлённое налево кружение пастыря.
Уже и дервиши в своём строю не только восклицали и кланялись, но и кружились, неуклонно двигаясь вправо, влево. Их кружение становилось быстрее, быстрее…
– Бог велик! – восклицали дервиши, и вопль их, разом исторгаемый из всех глоток, разом, будто не из сотни уст, а из бездонной одной глотки, как удар стенобитной машины, пробивал брешь в небе и достигал Аллаха.
Глаза дервишей стекленели, на развёрстых губах скапливалась пена, отуманенные круговерчением головы тяжелели, длинные волосы липли ко лбам, то там, то тут кто-нибудь падал, судорожно содрагаясь на холодных плитах двора, но чем меньше их оставалось, тем стремительнее было вращение круга и каждого дервиша в кругу…”

Гостями концерта в Доме Рижского Латышского общества были Друзья Ирана из общества “Барадаран-наме”. Те из нас, кто уже побывал в Прекрасном Иране, и те кто ещё собирается в путешествие, окунулись здесь в неповторимое звучание мелодий арийского Востока, великой Персо-Иранской цивилизации.

In Memory of the Great Sage
Eight hundred and ten years ago, Mevlana Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi was born in the town of Balkh (Northern Afghanistan), a famous mystic and great Persian poet, founder and head of the Sufi brotherhood of Maulavia. The poem «Masnavi-i Ma, Navi», written by him, deservedly became a masterpiece of world literature and even was called «the Koran in Persian.»
From September 29 to October 1, 2017, timed to the birthday of Sheikh Muhammad Rumi (September 30), the 4th International Festival of Oriental Music and Art “RUMI FEST” was held in Riga. Concerts were held in the House of Riga Latvian Society (September 29 and 30) and in the Palace of Culture “Ziemelblazma” (October 1). For connoisseurs of the Persian civilization and admirers of the great art of Iran, these days have become a real holiday.
The ensemble “TANEEN-O-TAN” came to us from France. It unites artists of Persian and Armenian origin. Synthesis of musical instruments (setar, tombak, duduk) and melodies of these peoples filled the ensemble’s compositions with a unique charm.
Group “AHOORA BAND” flew to Riga directly from Iran, from the city of Kermanshah, the administrative centre of the province of the same name. Here, in the west of Iran, in a region with a mountainous terrain, a fertile climate and a great history of historical monuments, the Kurds live – beautiful, talented and hospitable people, in whose national costumes our guests performed.
The festival “RUMI FEST” in the capital of the Republic of Latvia was organized and remarkably held by the society “AUSTRUMU KULTŪRAS CENTRS”. The main goal of this activity is the popularization of Eastern culture, traditions and music in Europe. The society regularly organizes various events – developing seminars, charity concerts, poetry and music evenings, in which outstanding musicians from Latvia and guests from Lithuania, Estonia, Iran, Turkey and other countries take part. These events are for those who are interested in music, poetry and culture of the East. The society also engages in charity, helping orphans, disabled people and the elderly.
And the students of the Riga School of Dervishes Mevlana acquainted Riga residents with the ceremony of Sema – a modern ritual of whirling dervishes.
The ritual of communicating with the highest through the path of rotation is many centuries old. Its origins go back to antiquity, into the youth of mankind. Did not pass his attention to our literature. Here is how the weekly rendition of dervishes in Tamerlane’s time (the 14th century), a remarkable Russian writer and historian, SP Borodin in the novel “The Stars over Samarkand”, is impressively described:
“Dervishes in their patterned fabrics, dark-brown dressing gowns, in pointed caps, framed with brown fringe with pointed staffs in their hands, lined up from all sides of the yard …
By dress, not distinguished from his flock, the spiritual master of the forces of militant servants of faith stepped forward shouting thanksgiving to God …
And a hundred powerful sips, having pulled out the cry of praise, confirmed the words of the tutor.
And again, and again, and again, and again, screaming out a cry for a yell, the dervishes confirmed their words with the waving of stone beads, of which a sharp knock strengthened the power of words.
Their excitement grew.
They moved around the edge of the courtyard, shouting for the word a word, regularly following with bows one after another.
For each word – one step forward, after the step – one bow.
The words grew louder and louder, the steps became more violent, breathing deeper, all the hotter eyes.
Mentor turned to meet the dervishes.
The faster the dervishes moved and bowed, tapping rosy beads, shouting, as oaths or as wedging, the words of prayers, the quicker their mentor circled within the dervish circle.
Two opposing movements, two opposing circles; the procession of the flock directed to the right, the shepherd’s whirling to the left.
Already the dervishes in their ranks not only cried and bowed but also circled, steadily moving to the right, to the left. Their spinning became faster, faster …
– God is great! exclaimed the dervishes, and their cry, at once poured out from all the mouths, at once, as if not from a hundred lips, but from the bottomless pharynx, like the blow of a wall-car, broke through the gap in the sky and reached Allah.
The eyes of the dervishes were glassy, foam was accumulating on their hardened lips, the heads were heavy with the twisting of their heads, their long hair was lathering to their foreheads, then, here and there, someone fell, convulsively trembling on the cold boards of the yard, but the fewer they remained, the faster the rotation of the circle and every dervish in the circle … “

Guests of the concert in the House of the Riga Latvian Society were Friends of Iran from the “Baradaran-name” society. Those of us who have already visited the beautiful Iran, and those who are still going on a trip, plunged here into the unique sounding melodies of the Aryan East, the great Persian-Iranian civilization.
